Booking Flights to Tibet

You will book your roundtrip flights to Chengdu from your hometown, and TVP will purchase your airfare from Chengdu to Lhasa. Please note TVP may purchase one-way tickets (costs about the same even if you buy roundtrip airfare) to Lhasa from Chengdu if you decide to stay longer in Tibet or to take the train back. About 10 days prior to our trip ends, TVP will book your flight to Chengdu from Lhasa. If you prefer to have a roundtrip ticket between Lhasa and Chengdu, please let us know so we can arrange that accordingly. Note: If you need to change your flights after making the purchase (domestic or international), it can be done with a service charge (generally under $75). TVP used to offer a package that included your flights. However, participants have different economic backgrounds and have specific preferences. For example, some preferred first class, shorter layovers, and others preferred cheaper but longer layovers. For this reason, this year everyone will purchase his or her own ticket and meet the group in Chengdu.
